Infomercial Advertising

Making the Step into Infomercial Advertising

One this is for certain in advertising over the last 30 years. Infomercial advertising pulls in gigantic returns when created and planned correctly. Ask any of the As Seen on TV hosts or company heads about their annual profits. The dr tv (direct tv) genre has become an early Saturday afternoon special that has sold over a million pots and pans, hair paint, exercise equipment, and many service related industries such as real estate and finance. However for every winner on the infomercial advertising game, there is most definitely a loser in the marketplace as well. What I have found to be evident in any business decision,  it pays many a dividend to research what is available in the marketplace where you live and see what your options are. Below I will list a couple things I have learned about producing infomercials and I open to any and all questions.

Mimic the As Seen on TV ads

When it comes to any commercial especially a full length infomercial, the content and script are the keys to success. After studying the infomercial video production companies that have successfully launched campaigns for As Seen on TV brands, I understand their format. I have read the Hawthorne Direct chapters on infomercial success and I believe they deserve the credibility considering there are my resource for this article today. And frankly if your interested in producing an infomercial I highly recommend reading their webpage. And then come back here to discuss it with me or give me a call at 216-938-5546.

Enhanced DVD Authoring – Hybrid DVD

Enhanced DVD Authoring

Capture Motion Media is pleased to announce that we are now a post production facility that offers Enhanced DVD Authoring (Hybrid DVD). An enhanced DVD or a hybrid DVD is a DVD that will open in any DVD setup player and be able to open a menu in any computer be it a MAC or PC. From the computer menu a viewer can open video files and Adobe PDF files. There could also be flash programming with this menu and offer many different user experiences from surveys to questionnaires and applications to games. These discs are also available in blu-ray format as well. You can also choose to have your content turned into a web page by asking us to format the video content as a flash file for your website.

An all in one file type

Enhanced DVD authoring or Hybrid DVDs can also be mastered as a Blu-ray disc as well. Two things will be considered when deciding between the two formats:

    Final Resolution Requested
Capacity of information or file size

Having an enhanced dvd for most digital content creators will be your answer when delivering previews to clients or for corporations sending out promotional mailers. Now you have a media type that can be opened in any DVD player and or computer system.Perfect for the client that wants to have a door to door campaign and want to be able to give something that speaks about your company, services, and or products. If someone does not get the chance to meet you in person, at least they have something then they could refer to. This is when interesting, unique packaging makes a world of difference. Not only that, but video production gives your company the look and feel of professionalism like no other medium.Speak with a representative about setting up an appointment to discuss your video production or creating an enhanced disc. Video Production Blog – Capture Motion Media

Capture Motion Media began in 1999 with its focus in video production. At the time I envisioned that video production would be published to the world wide web in regular rotation by now. Well I was right, and have been proud to be able to lead the way for many companies making the jump with their advertising utilizing video production to the world wide web. Since then I have probably produced, written, directed, and or worked as a crew member on over 500 different productions since then. And yes, it has been very interesting and rewarding in many ways. From learning about new industries and meeting some many wonderful people, and of course, a couple not so wonderful people as well. Below is a chart that shows the trends in Google searches for the term “video production in the last 90 days. Yes we do our homework here for your industry and ours.

Things to Consider

Depending on how much experience you have producing video for the web or TV, will dictate how successful you are in most cases. There will be few people out there that hits a home run right out of the gate with little or no experience. But those people are very few in number, for most of us have to learn about things before we master them.

A couple of things to consider when seeking out video production services are:

  • What is your budget?

Answer: Reason being obviously you do not want to go over your head with this. But you also do not want undermine yourself as well. Some of you are probably saying well of course we know that budget is important to know, but you would be surprised how many people have no idea what they want to spend or what they should be spending.

  • Do you know a reputable video production company?

Answer: Well of course you do now, but I know many of you know a guy that has a camera and has edited your sister’s wedding. All I can say is look into portfolios and satisfied client testimonials before hiring anyone that just has wedding experience. Mind you, I did shoot and produce weddings also, so nothing against you guys; but corporate video production screams quality that must be gained or learned over time. If they do not work in after effects/motion or even Maya/Cinema 4d they are not visual graphic communicators in the world of corporate giants.

  • Does your project require writing or pre-production?

Answer: Most projects I have been involved in have either someone heading the writing department or have no experience here at all. Both options are fine with Capture Motion Media. We enjoy writing and creating fresh content for our clients. In fact, it has become a passion these days.

  • What is your estimated delivery date and to what mediums?

Answer: Of course we need a time to think scheduling and arranging for shot locations and such. So keep in mind what time frame your looking to turn projects around at whether it is 2 weeks or 6 months. Generally for us we can turn 30-60 second spots around in a week maximum, while longer range projects such as documentaries and or feature length projects are more in line with 6 months to 1 year. When we speak of delivery forms as mediums we mean; is it internet/web delivery or is it TV/Cable network distribution. Or it could also be DVD/Blu-ray content delivery also.

I hope I have answered some questions for you viewers today. If you seek more information, by all means contact me at 216-938-5546 or if you would like to fill out a form here on the site.
